NZD/USD retreats to 0.7775

FXStreet (Córdoba) - NZD/USD jumped during the Asian session to 0.7870 on the back of the RBNZ statement and then retreated trimming gains. The pair pulled back below 0.7800 and found support around 0.7775.

During the last hour gained strength and rose back above 0.7800. Currently trades at 0.7825/30, 135 pips above from where it was a day ago.

The kiwi was the best performer during the Asian session and remains strong in the currency market ahead of US data. AUD/NZD reached a fresh multi-month low at 1.0580 while EUR/NZD holds below 1.5950.

AUD deeper and down – Rabobank

Jane Foley, Senior Currency Strategist at Rabobank, notes that AUD is down a considerable level than previous year spot around 0.91, while highlighting the reasons behind AUD’s dismal performance.
