The day ahead and main focuses - Rabobank

FXStreet (Guatemala) - Analysts at Rabobank notes the key events coming up.

Key Quotes:

"The major focus today is US retail sales (which while growing quite well are not up the 10% YoY Chinese exports claim they are.) Consensus is -0.1% MoM (due to lower oil prices) but +0.5% ex gasoline and autos. Expect more volatility on the back of these numbers".

"Plosser also speaks on the economy, while the Beige Book is out too: let’s see how upbeat the assessment is in areas that use oil vs. how downbeat where they produce oil/shale gas (again, we can’t all be winners)".

"In the UK the BOE’s Carney testifies on Financial Stability. We can hope for some answers to how we now stand in that regard after years of ultra-easy monetary policy in an increasingly-interconnected global economy; as opposed to the pre-crisis situation in 2007, where we faced a backdrop of years of ultra-easy monetary policy in an increasingly-interconnected global economy".

"China may release key lending data (if not today , then tomorrow). Not market moving, but important as growth signals".

"Overall, expect more volatility ahead: but remember the IMF thinks markets love it".
