Wall Street closes negative amid weak US data ahead nonfarm payrolls

FXStreet (San Francisco) - The US stocks market closed Thursday on the downside amid a wave of risk aversion and ahead of the March US employment report that will be published on Friday at 8:30 am ET; 12:30 GMT.

Weaker than expected ISM and more than awaited jobless claims dampened sentiment and dragged major indices lower. The Dow closed flat after reaching new all time high.

The Dow Jones lost 0.45 points to close at 16,572.55; the S&P 500 eased 2.13 pts or 0.11% to finish the day at 1,888.77; while the Nasdaq Composite lost 38.71 points or 0.91% to 4,237.74.

USD/CAD remains in ranges above 1.1000

The USD/CAD finished Thursday with a small gain hovering near daily highs at 1.1035.
