Russian Pres Putin: Against uncontrollable increase of oil prices

Russian President Vladimir Putin was out with some comments in the last hour, saying that Russia is against an uncontrollable increase in oil prices and is watching the oil market closely along with OPEC+.

Additional quotes:

   •  Russia and OPEC+ are ready to sit down and talk in H2 if needed.
   •  Ready for cooperation but not ready to say if Russia will reduce output or not.

The comments prompted some profit-taking and dragged WTI crude oil prices to the lower end of its daily trading range, closer to the $64.00/barrel mark.
