Ukraine’s President Zelensky fears “The end of Europe” on attacks over nuclear facilities

Adding to his previous dislike for Russian attacks on nuclear facilities, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky mentioned, “If there is an explosion, it is the end of everything. The end of Europe.”

The national leader also added, “Only immediate European action can stop Russian troops."

FX implications

Global markets remain risk-averse on the Ukraine- Russia standoff and such statements from Ukraine’s President Zelensky adds strength to the market’s rush to risk safety. As a result, traditional safe-havens like gold and the US dollar remain on the front foot of late.
